We are a nation who wants instant solutions to every problem there is. So the best solution to weight loss should be a weight loss pill which will cause a drastic weight loss without any exercise or dieting.

Wouldn’t that be just great? Well yes, I would love to lose a few pounds just on my hips and a pill to do that would be just great. So are there any pills which will help? Yes, just take a look

· Ephedrine or the extract of the plant ephedra. Its regularly used by people all over the world for weight loss. Although I couldn’t really understand the reason for it, the main reason by which ephedra causes weight loss is by suppressing hunger pangs, and emptying the contents of the stomach faster resulting in lesser absorption. Although you have to be warned that the FDA has warned of dangerous side effects like an increased heartbeat, high blood pressure and fainting associated with increased ephedra intake.

· Orlistat or Alli is a pill which delays the absorption of fat from the intestines. The main side effect of these pills is that that almost fifty percent of all vitamins are fat dependent. That means they are carried by fats into the body. So if the fats are not absorbed than the vitamins are not absorbed resulting in a vitamin deficiency. Another side effect which can occur is increased frequency of stools as the large amount of fat in the large intestines is irritating and causes it to empty out faster. There may also be embarrassing oily spots on and around the anal area because of leakage of the unabsorbed fat. But the tablet definitely causes weight loss.

This is a series of articles which will keep you informed about all the types of diet and weight loss products I come across on the Internet. Keep in touch for more on weight loss pills.

  1. Ephedra was awesome, but it’s not on the market at all in the U.S. anymore. The herbal equivalent is ma huang, which does pretty much the same thing. Great study aid, too.

  2. Im going to be completely honest here - i personally think that theres no real reason why people can’t just learn to maintain a balanced diet and get a little exercise (even if it is a walk around the block). Diet pills (whether they are proven to work or not) are simply a quick and easy method, a method that (lets face) will only solve the problem for a short period of time. The best idea is to go for the long term option!

  3. I have to agree with Mike. The key is making the necessary lifestyle changes … you need to change what you are putting into your mouth from Fat Foods to Fit Foods, and then move your body more to create a calorie deficit. Some diet pills and fat burners do work … but only when you have everything else right. Nutrition is 60%, Exercise 35%, Supplements 5%.
Ultimately you need to make lifestyle changes.
