People tend to think of their bodies like cars. Before it undergoes a long and tiring journey, it needs to fuel up.

Bodies, however do not work like cars. When you eat before you exercise, your blood flow is concentrated on your digestive system, to digest and break down the food that you just consumed. The decreased blood flow in your muscles will make it less resistant to fatigue.

Also, eating before exercising might make you prone to stomach stitches during your workout, or feelings of nausea.

I am not advising to start your exercise program hungry, with nothing in your stomach! However, it isn’t good to exercise when you are too full either.

Make sure you have an allowance of time after your meal and before your exercise. You will feel better, and burn off more calories that way!
