Dealing with your own child’s obesity or weight issues can b perplexing, frustrating and painful for a parent. We all want the best for our children, but we don’t want to be too harsh in implementing what’s best.

Here are simple ways to help your overweight child cope and slim down!

1.    Never single out your overweight child- This will only cause embarrassment and pain for him, and might in fact cause him to rebel. The best approach is to involve the whole family in fitness activities and healthy eating.
2.    Teach ALL your children about reading labels and smart grocery shopping-  Take your kids to the grocery, and educate them on what ingredients to say absolutely no to! This will build good habits that will still remain with them even when you’re not present!
3.    Educate your kids about emotional eating and hunger- Kids may also feel an emotional attachment to food, even f we seldom take notice of it. Make them realize early that this isn’t a good thing!
