If you think your kids will actually snack o celery sticks and apple slices willingly, you’re kidding yourself! Healthy snacks for kids, in order for it to work, have to be equal parts healthy and fun!
Stumped for ideas/ Here are some suggestions:
Dried fruit- Dried fruit ha the sweetness that kids love, and they are conveniently packed too, so they are easily taken anywhere. You can give kids fresh fruit too, but make sure it isn’t hard to open or they just won’t eat it!
Smoothies- Smoothies give that milkshake illusion but theyre healthy and loaded with fruit! Make it with some low fat yoghurt!
Proper portion sizes- don’t let your kids get their hands on big bags of cookies or chips. Portion them into little bags so they eat just the right amount.
Make your own trail mix- Make your kids choose their favorite little snacks like pretzels, nuts, raisins and dried fruit and mix them all together for their personalized trail mix! They’ll love it!
Don’t eliminate, limit!- If you take away things like chips and soda, your kids will find it drastic and rebel! Instead, limit the amount that they can have. You can have a chips snack day or a soda night!
