New studies have sown that individuals who are stressed have higher BMIs or Body Mass Index. This can be attributed to the fact that stressed individuals usually resort to consuming food that’s easy to find and fast, or more popularly known as fast food. Stress can also trigger emotional eating in some individuals as a means of coping.

The study also found that women were more prone to these dangers compared to men. Lack of emotional support was also related to feelings of stress an over eating and weight gain.
