I’ve just had a baby boy and he’s a darling but the little twerp gave me hard time during the labor and delivery .HE just didn’t want to come out.After laboring for two whole days, the little pig-in-a-poke literally popped out wailing till kingdom come.

He wasn’t impresed with his tired sweaty momma and his mommy was wondering whether a few recessive genes had popped out in little junior to form such a reddish scrawy yelling little thing.The last thing I remember before dozing off was, “There’s been a mistake,someone switched wombs on me!”

The next day was no better.When the doctor came in I threatened malpractice as the little twerp had definitely got a yellowish hue. The doctor was quick to cover his behind and reassured me that a few children do get jaundice when they pop out.All I had to do was to roast the little critter in the sun like a barbecue and he would be fine. Adn I’m happy to say it worked just fine!

But thats the case with normal children.A few vigilant parents can catch the sight of yellowed eyes and nails and finger nails pretty quick ,But what would have happened if I had not mentioned it to the doctor? Would he have remembered or not?The fact of the matter is that not all children do get jaundice when they are born ;but if they do have it and its ignored then there is a chance of permanent damage to the newborns eyes called as KERNICTERUS.
